Here's part of our ride today. I am so proud of him! This is his first ride with the bit in his mouth, but he has been ground driven in the bit (last summer). He was so much more willing to move out once I took him out of the round pen. You can see he wants to get near Tonka, who is grazing loose in the background, but he's listening pretty well. Not long after this he got overwhelmed so I called it a day.

He looks GREAT, Andrea! You're so brave to ride out in the pasture. I'm a wimp!

Nah, I'm a huge chicken. But I know my boy. I have no nervousness riding him, it's awesome.

Darn it all, I have a couple people coming to look at him this weekend. One of them might be the perfect home, working on a cattle ranch with a slow start and other horses to rotate out when he gets overwhelmed. Wow. Just what I would want. Sigh. Lots of thinking to do here.

That would be a very good home for him, I'd think. I'm surprised you had such a quick bite. :/

He looks great, Andrea! Are you so sure that Scout wouldn't be a good horse to ride if you can't ride Tonka? Seems like you could end up ahead by investing a little in him by sending him to a trainer you really like, rather than taking a chance on a horse you don't really know, whether or not it was trained beforehand.
