This afternoon I went and looked at a horse. I liked him. But I think the timing is wrong. I'm still not sure whether Bella will shape up to be a capable mountain horse, but I think it's too early to give up on her.
That and we can't afford him. I was kind of hoping we could pull something out of our hat, but my more realistic half informed me that we couldn't. Which is a bummer, because I kinda had a warm and fuzzy feeling about this guy.
He's a cute fewspot appaloosa, I liked how he was put together, and he seemed intelligent and personable. And sound. Ah well...
Looking at horses is hard. It really makes me miss Tonka.

I haven't been following the blog long enough to know the specifics about Bella not being a mountain horse...if i remember right she randomly comes up lame, right? I definitely think she could still be a awesome mountain horse! Lots of hills will obviously help that hind end! I knew a few horses that came up lame with stiffness in their hind from being in a stall most time an not having enough space, (not that that's Bella's problem! Everytime I see her she's outside!). But maybe it's something easily handled!
Andrea, I am going to shoot you an email with some of what I want to say, maybe it can give you some hope.
I'm so sorry that you are still missing your boy. I know how hard it must be for you.
