On another note, wanna bet on what color my horse is? I still don't have the DNA results back, and I'm stumped.
Here's his lineage, with color in parentheses:
Note his mom is listed as a red dun but there's no dun in her background. I think those buckskins are actually dun. Here she is:

Oh my gosh I just found a baby pic of Duncan!
HE'S SO CUTE I'M GONNA DIE!
Here he is sometime later, with a different name and missing part of his ear:
They're not glamour shots, but here are pics from today:
Notice how the tips of the hairs are dark, then they're goldish, and the summer coat is dark. And he's filthy. :)
He has been on a good daily vitamin mineral supplement for 6 months, so he shouldn't be deficient in copper, but he could be, and he definitely could have been when he grew his winter coat.
Updated to add eye pics:
The lighter stripes in his eyes under his pupil are interesting.

I think he's black. Does he have brown eyes? Or are they a bit lighter than a "normal" horse?
They're kind of an interesting color, with a lighter stripe. I'll add a pic to the post.

Black chestnut maybe?
I have no idea what color he could be, but it's a beautiful one! He really has such unique coloring.
Seal Brown...going gray?
Squeee! A foal pic! How lovely that you found one!
I think that's a definite possibility.
Thanks! I think he's pretty cool myself. I saw another curly this week that was being called black, but was this color. I wonder if colors look different on curly horses?
I think he's too old to go grey, unless he's older than I think and it's a bit of old man grey. But he could be seal brown.
I love it! Of course they're all cute, but I think he's especially wonderful. :)

Curly horse are always kinda greasy. We found dawn dish soap and ivory soap to be the best for bathing. They will always grow a Curley winter coat and shed it out completely to be bare skinned in the summer. He may also lose his all his mane and tail each year. I bet he is a smoky grulla
