We went to WSU today to check out Halla's weepy, squint eye and we still have no answers. But there is no foreign body, no ulcer, no blocked tear duct, and she's reasonably sure it doesn't look like uveitis or glaucoma. They don't have an ophthalmologist there anymore, so this was a regular vet, but a very thorough vet.
My job now is to journal when it's worst. It could be an allergy or something.
Well, at least it wasn't something horrible!

Poor thing! I hope her eye feels better soon.
So much with horses is a mystery, and those mysteries often resolve themselves. I hope that's the case for her.
I sure would like that. But this has been going on since before I bought her. At the time she had a teeny tiny ulcer, so I figured I'd treat it and it would be fine. That healed, but still we have the weeping and the squinting... I was kind of disappointed in the lack of tools at WSU. I knew they didn't have an ophthalmologist anymore but I thought they'd have all the ability to do diagnostics... Oh well. I have a couple ideas, and if neither works, we'll hunt down another doctor.
Yeah, I would have thought WSU would answer your questions--they're kind of the best thing we have going around here. I didn't realize it had gone on for quite that long.
