Today I asked him, "Would you care to take a walk with me?"
It looks like he'll be leaving me this week. I didn't meet all my goals with him, but I think he'll get there eventually. He's pretty stubborn about picking up his feet, but if he can get out of the mud I think now he's halter broke enough that you could rope his feet and not have him freak out and get tangled up. By roping his feet I mean this, not some barbaric and rough practice. Monday, November 02, 2009

Don't you just love those first few, timid steps? It's like a toddler reaching to hold your hand.
He's going to miss you. And I know you'll miss him.
He seems like a very nice horse. I think it takes a special horse to go through all the BLM puts them through and then to be be willing to give humans another chance.
That's too bad that he's going so soon. I hope he continues the progress at his home. I imagine his owners are excited to try some things with him now that you've gotten him more trusting.
Andrea, I think you've really saved this horse. I hope his owners appreciate all you've done, and I hope they continue putting one foot in front of the other and making progress and not be afraid to ask for help when they need it.
You've done great with him. Hopefully the owners can help him through now. If they get stuck, I'd imagine that they'd be calling you? Hope so.
